Denver Eye Surgeons are experienced in treating patients with Botox® for aesthetic reasons who desire softening of facial lines and wrinkles, as well as patients who suffer from medical spasm conditions such as benign essential blepharospasm and hemifacial spasm.
Botox softens the action of muscles by blocking the nerve signals to them. In general, the softening effect begins in 2-3 days, reaches full effect in 7-14 days and lasts about 3 to 4 months. Because Botox takes several days to take effect, it is best to plan for your treatment ahead of any important events.
Juvederm® is an FDA-approved injectable dermal filler based on hyaluronic acid.
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that helps skin cells hold moisture and retain volume. Over-exposure to sunlight and aging can inhibit the production of hyaluronic acid resulting in skin that looks wrinkled or dry.
The dermal filler is injected to reduce the appearance of wrinkles or folds and results are immediate.
The recovery period is minimal and any slight redness, swelling or discomfort at the injection site usually disappears within a few days. Bruising is possible. Results usually last for 12-15 months.
Juvederm Voluma® is an injectable dermal filler designed to add just enough volume to gently lift and contour the cheek area. As we age, our cheeks flatten and the skin may begin to sag. This is caused by loss of fullness, or what the experts call age-related midface volume loss. Results usually last for up to 2 years.
Kybella® is an injectable treatment used to improve the appearance of fat beneath the chin (double chin) by physically destroying fat cells.
The active ingredient in Kybella® is synthetic deoxycholic acid which is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that helps break down fat.
When injected into the fat beneath your chin, Kybella® destroys fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat.
Fat cleared from the treatment area is processed through your body’s natural metabolism.
Once the aesthetic response is achieved, further treatment is not expected. Typically two or three treatments are performed about 6 to 8 weeks apart.
Swelling and fluid in the area is to be expected for a week or so after injection.

Cosmetic upper eyelid blepharoplasty involves the surgical removal of excess eyelid skin and, if necessary, the removal and/or contouring of the fat around the eyes. The goal of this surgery is to rejuvenate the area surrounding the eyes resulting in an overall more youthful and rested appearance.
Blepharoplasty is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures performed. Age, allergies (eyelid swelling) and genetics (often runs in families) are contributing factors to the development of excess eyelid skin. A blepharoplasty can be performed on both the upper and lower eyelids, and the surgery is customized for each individual.
Endoscopic Brow Life is a surgical procedure preformed under anesthesia to release and elevate the brow tissue.
Eyebrow descent occurs with time, gravity, sun exposure (squinting) and genetics. There are a variety of techniques to elevate the brows. One of the more common is the Endoscopic brow lift called Endo-Brow. This cosmetic procedure utilizes several small incisions hidden near the hairline to facilitate release and subsequent elevation of the forehead and eyebrows. Other brow lift surgeries include browplexy, direct brow lift and pretrichial brow lift.
